Constitutionally there is a single-centered governance system in the People's Republic of Bangladesh. In the way, in field the field administration, Upazila administration works in the minimum. The role of the district administration in the development of various services, living standards and socio-economic development and growth for the purpose of ensuring the basic rights of the poor is to glorify two hundred years of glory. In the district administration, the Deputy Commissioner, the District Magistrate and the collector are working as collector. On the other hand, the subdivisional administration of the sub-divisional administration was the SDO (Sub Divisional Officer) who played the role of administrative, judicial and collective. After the upazila parishad was established in 1982, the post was known as Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO). After the dissolution of Upazila Parishad in 1991, after getting the name of the Thana Executive Officer (TNO), the post was re-introduced as Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) due to the upazila parishad revival. The UNO is represented at the upazila level of the central government. He coordinates the functions of the departments of various departments based in the upazila level.
Besides, he provides secretive support to the Upazila Parishad as a Chief Executive Officer (UNO) under Upazila Parishad Act. He also operates mobile courts as executive magistrates under the cabinet division. Shailakupa thana was established on July 15, 1917, separating 14 unions from Shailkupa upazila of Jhenaidah district. After the Gazette notification was published on 21st September, officially the activities of Shailkupa Police station were started from 1 January 1918.
